2nd Grade Writing Menu

I aligned this to the 2nd grade Common Core Standards. It works great as a reference on which lessons to teach in writing. I put an endless amount of hours researching to come up with this.

Rhea Lana's of Texarkana

It's almost that time! Rhea Lana's Spring 2014 Event will be held on Sunday, February 16th- Saturday, February 22 at Special Events on the Boulevard in Texarkana.

What is it? It is a consignment event that only happens two times a year in Texarkana. You can get name brand clothes for babies, girls, boys, juniors, and maternity.  They also carry nursery furniture and bedding, cradles, carseats, strollers, high chairs, and walkers.

Do you want to sign up to be a consigner?

They are currently accepting Spring and Summer clothing in boys sizes 0-18, girls sizes 0-16 and junior sizes 1-11, as well as maternity clothing, toys, furniture, books, shoes, baby equipment and more! As a Consignor, you can earn 70-80%!

Disclosure: I am a Sponsor of this event, which will allow me to shop during the private pre-sale before the main sale begins. I am also participating as a Consignor, and will be compensated as any other consignor would be.

Classroom Cheers

I love classroom cheers and these are wonderful. You have to check out Sugar Blossoms' blog. She provides short videos of each cheer and a printable of all the cheers. I am going to make the printable a poster and hang it up in my classroom.

Just Dance Video Webmix by Kinderchat

All the videos have been converted to safeshare so they are safe to show in the class. I love to give my students brain breaks, especially when they have been working really hard. The dances on the videos are repetitive, so the kids can easily learn the dance moves.

2.OA.4 Arrays

We have been busy learning about arrays. We learned how to make arrays, repeated addition, and multiplication.
Activities:
  • Students made arrays by using stickers. (Thank you Mrs. Bennett)
  • Students made arrays by using Cheez-its.
  • Game - Students worked in pairs. Partner A rolls the dice. The first dice is for rows and the second dice is for columns. Partner B makes the array with cubes.

The students loved this game. I added this game to our Daily 5 Math.
